In Memoriam (Geeta Aulakh)

Butchered for falling out of love.

Where is the honour in that?

Killed for wanting to be free.

Where is the honour in that?

Why is there punishment for this in life?

It’s getting out of hand.

Why should we live in fear?

It’s spiralling out of control.

Something needs to be done so women can feel safe.

Have you ever heard of a man killed in an honour crime?

None of this has to happen.

What is being done to protect women?

Women being circumcised without consent

Don’t they want their wife to achieve orgasm?

Obviously not,

Or are they that insecure of their performance?

Why are we seen as inferior?

We are sick of being patronised.

What can we do to change this?

We are sick of being ridiculed.
